DESCRIPTION:Cape Cod Beer\, in cooperation with Edible Cape Cod\, is excited to announce their second food competition of the season\, the 2021 Salsa Showdown\, featuring five local restaurants:   Anejo\, Hyannis   Burrito Bistro\, Hyannis   Guapos\, Orleans   JP's Twisted BBQ\, Hyannis   Sam Diego's\, Hyannis The 2021 Salsa Showdown is a COVID safe event taking place in the comfort of your own home\, but easy for participants with a centralized "take-out" pick up location at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis. Participants purchase tickets online in advance\, pick up their Showdown package at Cape Cod Beer on Sunday\, May 2nd\, and then vote online for their favorite. The winner of the 2021 Salsa Showdown will be announced online on Cinco de Mayo\, Tuesday May 5th. Cost to participate is $20. Deadline for ordering is Wednesday\, April 28th. Details can be found at www.CapeCodBeer.com or Eventbrite.com under Salsa Showdown. The 2021 Salsa Showdown will be a true BLIND taste test\, as the salsa containers will not indicate which restaurant they came from. Each participating restaurant will make their classic salsa recipe and package them individually in to-go containers. Each blind taste test will come with five 4oz containers of salsa (approximately 20oz of salsa total) labeled in a way that the diners will not know which salsa belongs to which restaurant & a 16oz bag of tortilla chips. Once the salsas have been enjoyed\, the participants will go online and vote for their favorite\, and the winner will be announced two days later. Participants who are looking to "make it a meal" have the option to add sides such as chili\, chili mac\, and cornbread provided at an additional cost by Cape Cod Beer's in-house food purveyor JP's Twisted BBQ.
