SUMMARY:David Mullen presents 'From Atget to AI: The History of Photography' at Osterville Village Library
DESCRIPTION:From Atget to AI: The History of Photography Approaching the 200th anniversary of the first recorded photograph\, we look back on how the intersection of physics\, chemistry\, mechanics\, and art have led us to a time when no image can be considered "true." From Leonardo's camera obscura to Ni pce 1827 heliograph to Atget's Paris to Ansel's Yosemite to Photoshop's AI\, changes in technology have driven artistic vision\, even as artistic vision has pushed the boundaries of the era's technology. In this presentation\, photo educator Dave Mullen will take us on a whirlwind tour of over 200 years of image creation to see how photography has changed the world\, and how the world has changed photography. Dave's personal work can be seen at davidmullenphoto.com. Currently offering workshops and classes at the Cape Cod Art Center\, he also offers private instruction in photography\, Lightroom\, and Photoshop. He teaches remote classes through the Capital Photography Center (DC) and Johns Hopkins University\, and has exhibited widely throughout the mid-Atlantic. He has been published in CameraArts\, ArtDoc\, and Lenswork magazines. This program will take place on Saturday May 10th at 1pm in the Main Meeting Room at the Osterville Village Library. For more information or to register for this event\, please contact Amy Wolfe at awolfe@clamsnet.org or by calling the OVL directly at (508)428-5757
