Dr. Michael Price’s program, The Aging Eye, explores Vision Through the Years and ‘Understanding Your Aging Eyes’ and offers an engaging and informative look at how vision changes over time and what can be done to preserve eye health. Drawing on both clinical expertise and the latest research, Dr. Price explains common age-related conditions such as presbyopia, cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration in clear, accessible terms. The program explores how lifestyle choices, early detection, and modern treatments can make a meaningful difference in maintaining good vision. Attendees will gain practical tips for protecting their eyesight, understand when to seek professional care, and leave with a deeper appreciation for the remarkable complexity of the human eye. This presentation will focus on the most common age-related ocular changes and especially when “normal aging” becomes a clinical concern. We will discuss the anatomy of the eye so that we can understand the changes. Why do we need reading glasses? What is a cataract and when to intervene? We will discuss the modern day surgical interventions including the new implants. What is glaucoma? Often referred to as “the silent thief of sight”. We will discuss the importance of monitoring for glaucoma with regular check ups. We see so many television commercials about “wet” and “dry” macular degeneration. What is the difference and how are they treated in 2026? We’ll discuss dry eyes and floaters and flashes. Then have a question and answer discussion at the end. This program will take place on Saturday June 27th at 11am in the Main Meeting Room.
