Anthony Sammarco presents “Chocolate: From the Chocolate of the Aztecs to Baker’s, Hershey’s, Cadbury, Schraffts and Toll House Cookies” Chocolate is a food made from roasted and ground cocoa beans that can be a liquid, solid, or paste, either by itself or to flavor other foods. Simple enough but few realize that chocolatle was the “Food of the Gods” and served warm flavored with vanilla and chili powder. By the 18th century, chocolate and cocoa had become a favorite in Europe as well as in Boston. This lecture will outline the history of chocolate and explore the companies who produced it. From Baker’s, Hershey’s, Cadbury, Schrafft’s to Toll House Cookies, this lecture is sure to please! This program will be held on Saturday February 14th at 12:30pm in the Main Meeting Room at the Osterville Village Library.
