Back in the Kitchen with Joe: Soft-Shelled Crab Dinner

Tue, Jun 24, 6-8pm. Join Chef Joe Cizynski "back in the kitchen" for an intimate, informative gourmet dinner! Soft shell crabs are crabs that are molting, which is when the hard shell of the crab grows about 30 percent. They have to shed their old shell and when they exit that shell, they are soft for about 2 to 3 hours. Then their shell starts to turn hard again. A true delicacy during the season! Tonight we will have 4 different preparations of soft-shell crabs! We will start with soft shell crabs in a Campari Negroni sauce, soft shell crab tempura with Hijiki seaweed salad, soft shell crabs with blood oranges and hazelnuts, and finish with a soft shell crab BLT slider with house made bacon! This event will be in the Simoneau kitchen and limited to 10 people. Sign up quickly! Complimentary Negronis will be served.
