Join Archaeologist, Sophia Morong as she speaks about the past, present, and possible future of maritime archaeology with regards to the Whydah Gally shipwreck. “As you can imagine, with new technology and science, fields such as this can sometimes change overnight. I am hoping to discuss what maritime archaeology is, a brief history of it, and how it connects to a real-world scenario, such as the Whydah Gally shipwreck. Within that broad topic, I am also hoping to touch upon the conservation side of maritime archaeology. For example, what artifacts are most likely to survive, and which ones aren't”.
