Fiber Fun with Kathy: Rug Hooking for Beginners

4 Wednesdays, Jan 15-Feb 5, 930am-1230pm. Learn the ins and outs of primitive rug-hooking in this FUN 4-session class with fiber artist Katherine Blake-Parker while creating a 10”x11” hooked mat from start to finish, using strips of wool (new and recycled/overdyed) on linen. You will explore colors, textures, tools, and techniques of a folk art that is functional and beautiful. Enjoy learning a light-hearted, folk-art approach to rug-hooking on a pre-drawn design or choose to adapt your project with the instructor according to your comfort level and/or creative desire. We provide all materials and there is no prior experience necessary, just a willingness to explore coloring with fiber. $310/$286 for members.
