Food Truck Vendors need to apply for their temporary food permit online- here is the link: https://barnstablema.It typically takes up to 14 days before the event to give the Board of Health time to review.
Food Permit – Mobile Food – Annual/Seasonal
Food Establishment Permit – Mobile Trucks
Please be aware the Town of Barnstable has a unique requirement different from other towns. We require all of our mobile trucks to have a self-closing window or screen. Please discuss with a health inspector at 508-862-4644 if you have any questions.
The Town doesn’t allow push carts of any kind.
In the Town, you are not allowed to be on the beach property without a contract from the Town. You need to contact HYCC to find out how to apply for a contract. The contracts are valid for three years.
This application should be submitted to permit any mobile food establishment in the Town of Barnstable. Mobile Food Trucks include annual and seasonal permits. This would be used for mobile food, mobile ice cream, frozen meat and fresh/frozen seafood trucks. This permit is based on calendar year and permit ends Dec. 31st in the calendar year applied.
Once you submit your application, this system will allow you to see where your application is in the approval process. The system will also generate multiple emails informing you of each step and internal approval/denial processes. You may log in at any time to observe your application’s progress. You are not APPROVED, do NOT have a PERMIT and CANNOT operate, until you have final health inspector approval, paid your fee, and the Food Establishment permit is issued.
Before submitting the applications you will be required to upload the following documents:
- Copy of 2 Food Protection Manager’s Certificates and 1 must have allergen training. If this is a one person operation, you need to get a health inspector to allow you to only have one Food Protection Manager, however if the person with certification is sick or not able to work, the truck must be closed.
